Beneteau Takes First Place in the 2nd Nasugbu to Busuanga Race

Selma Star, a Beneteau First 36.7 skippered by Sean Mitchell took first place in the IRC class with a total elapsed time of 26:15:35.

More Magic, a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43DS skippered by Ed Gallego won the cruising class with a total elapsed time of 28:59:18.

Belatrix, an Ice 52 skippered by Jun Villanueva was first to arrive at the finish line with total elapsed time of 19:40:00. However she gave up time penalty to land second in cruising class.

The Calavite straight proved a challenge with 30 knot gusts forcing boats to reef their sails or risk sail damage. However, the wind died down to a whisper in the middle of the night as the fleet approached Busuanga.

All the other boats switched on their motors except for the 2 winning boats Selma Star (IRC class) and More Magic (cruising class).  Boats that motored to the finish were given a time penalty of 1.5x motoring time.
